NO FCRA USE. This privately operated site has no connection to a local, Missouri, or federal government body. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other purposes regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Linn County criminal-record information is offered only as reference material. We are neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.
1. What This Website Is
This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It does not store official records, perform official criminal history checks, retrieve records, or submit filings for a user.
Its role is to identify Linn County custodians, including the sheriff, Ninth Judicial Circuit, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry, while also offering links to outside research tools.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use is permitted only if you agree not to:
- Use content in violation of federal, Missouri, or local law
- Harass, stalk, intimidate, or threaten another person
- Use the site for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
- Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
- Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
- Disrupt performance or interfere with another visitor’s access
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
Information found here or through a linked service may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. The rule is especially important for Missouri Sex Offender Registry data. MSHP warns that using registry information to facilitate a crime is illegal, and RSMo 589.425 criminalizes failure to register. Public safety awareness never authorizes vigilantism or other misuse.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produce no consumer, credit, or background reports. Our partners’ tools are likewise not presented for regulated screening. Information from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:
- Set insurance eligibility, rates, or premiums
- Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
- Evaluate a renter, tenant, or housing applicant
- Decide creditworthiness or eligibility for a regulated benefit
- Carry out any other purpose controlled by the FCRA
A person needing a check for a regulated purpose must use a legally authorized official channel or a compliant consumer reporting agency.
5. No Legal Advice
Nothing published here is legal advice. General descriptions of Linn County criminal records cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement statute affects one person. Consult a licensed Missouri attorney for that advice.
6. No Warranties
All content and functions are supplied “as is.” We make no promise that:
- Outside search results will be complete, accurate, or correctly matched
- Any page is free of bugs, errors, or security weaknesses
- Information is complete, current, or accurate at all times
- Access will remain uninterrupted
Charges, dispositions, closed records, and expungement orders can change what an official file shows. Delays and gaps are unavoidable. No page should be treated as an official statement from the Linn County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, MSHP, or another agency.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links may lead to sheriff pages, Missouri courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. We do not operate those destinations and are not responsible for their data practices, availability, prices, or content. Review each provider’s terms before use.
8. Intellectual Property
Unless stated otherwise, Linn County Criminal History or its content partners own the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative material.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses or damages arising from use of the site, its content, or a linked service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold us harmless against claims, demands, and proceedings caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.
11. Governing Law
Missouri law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from site use must be brought in a court located in Missouri.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the new language is posted on this page.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be limited or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice.
14. Severability
If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected language will be narrowed only as much as necessary.
15. Questions
Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
